Friday, July 23rd was the kick-off party for the 2010 PDX Bridge Fest.
My rendition of the St. Johns Bridge was sold just an hour into the show. Thank you to the awesome couple that I met who bought the piece. From one good home to the next. The artwork was created with black ink and colored pencils, placed in a metal frame that I had found wandering the streets of Portland.

The soundboard is finally complete. The words “Independently Grown Since 1968″ now appear on the front, as well as the 3D knobs were completed. This mural is 1/200th away from being complete. Last step is to put the thank you to the Regional Arts & Culture council. Then the graffiti barrier, and hopefully 10 years of mural excellence on the front of KBOO Community Radio.

Have a look around, you’re now in the world of KMF ILLUSTRATION! The new layout has me wondering if this internet is big enough to hold all of these ideas. Here is what’s new and coming up in the world of KMF artwork.
Art Events – The next monthly installment of my work will be in July @ Cricket Cafe. With the following month of August @ Seven Planet, along with a temporary mural at the Ephemeral Gallery.
KMF Store – New framed originals will be coming soon to the store, as well as some new t-shirt designs for the summer. Look for the store to be growing in vegetation soon, there are many new ideas forming in this section.
The City of Portland partnered with Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) on the Public Art Murals Program to provide funding for a range of artists and art to become part of the City’s public art collection.
New Beauty at KBOO Studios
Artist Kevin Fitzpatrick has been working on a fab murals project that now appears on the front of KBOO Community Radio studios at 20 Southeast 8th Avenue. Adding color, energy and style to the building and the street, the project is about 90% finished. Swing by on your bike and give Kevin a shout out as he finishes the work.

March looks like it’s trying to bring sunshine, but Portland is a bit rainy right now. Hopefully with some friends visiting at the end of the month, the sun will come out and we’ll be able to finish this mural. Once that is done I will be presenting this mural to RACC and if the price is right (and the timing is good) we will premiere the KBOO Community Radio Mural Documentary. So much to do, so much to see, so many people to meet.
